Each year at our Bosses Day Luncheon a woman is given the "Woman of Distinction" award.  This woman demonstrated excellence in the parks and recreation field during the past year and has volunteered/and or supported Delta WILS Chapter.  This past October 2009, Ms. Holly Malan from San Marcos Parks and Recreation Department was given this prestigious award at the new El Corazon Senior Center in Oceanside.  Over 40 people attended the luncheon in her honor.

Each January one of our members host a New Year's Brunch.   This year Suzanne and Royce Stephens hosted the brunch in Lakeside.  It was a beautiful sunny day, about 70 degrees.

 

We sat next to their pool and dined on 50's style burgers and treats!!  The theme was 1950's and Suzanne has the theme in her "finished basement" to boot.  A Betty Boop statue stands almost 5 feet tall!!  They were gracious hosts. We also played a game (like the white elephant).  Suzanne gave out party favors to those who dressed in the theme.
